The activities of Acoustic Art Studios comprise a wide variety. However, there is a focus on the recording of acoustic music and acoustic musical instruments, respectively. Because of the musical development of the company’s founder and sound engineer Werner Angerer and because of his studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts he has numerous musical competences that are of importance during the process of recording and arrangement. Many ensembles need to record several instruments at a time. Therefore, the Acoustic Art Studios cooperate with the Sound Studio Recordable, under the management of Bernhard Gittenberger. During recordings, up to five separate rooms (four of them with visual contact) can be used. That is why also ensembles with a critical volume balance can be realised without any loss of sound quality. Furthermore, a well intonated concert grand is available.
In the Acoustic Art Studios, the aim is to reach the highest and most adequate sound quality possible, for every single recording. Appropriate working methods and mixing techniques can strongly vary, depending on the style of music or the sound expectations. Due to the cooperation with the sound studio Recordable, a classic analogue Neve mixing console 510608 with 48 channels is available. A Protools HD3 System and numerous UAD-, TDM and Rtas-Plugins are applied for the mixdown on the digital level. Because of the better sound quality, the accumulation is done in an analogue way, using tools of the brand Dangerous. In addition to that, numerous analogue dynamic processors and effect tools are available.
The Acoustic Art Studios are happy to do the final finishing of all types of recordings. Apart from the tools that are usual in this industry, also historical stereo compressors (Neve and SSL) are available to provide an analogue touch in digital times.
Often the music, the ensemble or the situation demands a certain location or certain acoustic surrounding, for example recordings at a concert or recordings of classical orchestra music. The Acoustic Art Studios can provide high quality equipment to create working conditions that are similar to the conditions in a studio.
Also film and video dubbings are realised in the Acoustic Art Studios. The studio’s infrastructure offers all possibilities to record speech and Foleys. There is also an extensive sound library to ensure a tailor-made and detailed sound design.
